RSU 71 Task Force to Safely Re-Open Schools

Belfast Adult Education has created a re-opening plan that incorporates the needs of the adult education program while honoring the medical/social recommendations related to the COVID pandemic.
The www.communitylearningforme.org site is a volunteer driven, grassroots effort designed in community for community as a resource to support parents and teachers while school is not in session due to COVID-19. Rural Aspirations is working with various community organizations and businesses, as well as school leaders to identify areas of need, and develop a comprehensive resource to support learning from home. Our intention is to provide parents and teachers with resources, support, and networking opportunities to support students in this difficult time.
On May 5, 2020, the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced that Maine is approved to operate Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT), a new program authorized by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), which provides assistance to families of children eligible for free or reduced-price meals during the closure of classroom-based instruction.
