Superintendent's Message

Greetings from Mrs. McLean - August 2019

I’d like to welcome students, families and staff new to RSU #71 and say welcome back to those returning. I have found that RSU # 71 is a wonderful district in which to learn and to grow, with ambitious and engaged students, caring and involved families, dedicated and enthusiastic staff, a hard-working and well-informed school board, and a great many talented and generous community partners.

Speaking of community partners, I’d like to publicly thank the many who have planned a wide range of fabulous enrichment activities for the students of RSU # 71 during this year’s “early release Fridays.” Students in kindergarten through 12th-grade will be released early on Fridays (K-5 students will be dismissed at 12 noon and students in grades 6 - 12 will be dismissed at 1:15 pm). During this time district staff will be engaged in professional development, training and collaboration, all in the interest of improving student outcomes. Click here to see some of the projects that we’ll be working on as part of our ESEA Plan and an updated list of community partners offering activities for students on PD Fridays. We are very grateful for you all!
