For those who want to help, the Governor’s new Maine Helps website offer a number of ways. It also has some info on where to go to get help.
For those who need help, the 3 things we’re telling people:
-Call 211 for help with basic needs, food, shelter, etc
-If you’ve lost your jobApply for unemployment through Maine Dept of Labor. Even if you’re unsure if you qualify, we’re telling people to apply anyway and DOL will make the determination. Unemployment Claims

-MyMaineConnection: One-stop shop to apply for SNAP, MaineCare and other benefits. Those without internet access are encouraged to call: 1-855-797-4357
If someone needs help with My Maine Connection, Maine Equal Justice Partners is a great resource. They can talk people through the process. They have a great COVID-19 resource page, too.
